Volunteerism

(Canadian) There are several parts of the Canada Volunteerism Initiative that periodically offer funding opportunities to nonprofit organizations through Requests for Proposals. Canadian Centre for Philanthropy’s Knowledge Development Centre. www.kdc-cdc.ca
(International) "Interfaith Service Projects" - Religious Youth Service (RYS). www.rys.net A project of the International Interreligious Federation for World Peace (IIFWP).
"Initiated in 1985, RYS promotes the twin ideals of interreligious harmony and public service. Youth leaders of various faiths and nationalities come together for social service projects to serve communities in need. As they offer their time, labor, sweat and tears to help others, the youth develop deep friendships that transcend their religious and cultural differences. RYS believes that serving others is the key to interreligious peace."
(U.S.)THE INTERFAITH YOUTH CORE http://www.ifyc.org
"The Interfaith Youth Core is a youth-led, Chicago-based international interfaith organization. We bring youth from different faith communities together to engage in social action projects and share how their different faiths inspire social justice....The Interfaith Youth Core seeks to nurture a new generation of compassionate global leaders by engaging youth from different faith communities in a dynamic process of intercultural encounter, social action and interfaith reflection....Interfaith Youth Core programs operate on a multi-layered model that has been developed through real-world action projects combined with academic research." The recent National Day of Interfaith Youth Service brought together thousands of young people of many faiths all over the United States and elsewhere. They also served food to the homeless, cleaned up parks, and built new homes for low income residents.
